This tote is made from veg tan leather, which allows the leather to be shaped and moulded. The father panel in the base will hold it’s shape and makes this a unique bag.
The Marie Mini Tote pattern used was named after Marie Curie. The original size was designed with carrying around A4 paper, and all the essentials that would be needed for a scientist. I then scaled it down to create the mini size, it’s still a generous size, and as usual will fit my A5 bullet journal and some pens with plenty of room to spare.
The lining and straps are a grey waterproof canvas, that make this bag durable and ready for day-to-day life
Strap length from end to end is approximately 54cm
Strap drop – top of strap to top of bag is approximately 24cm
Bag is 36cm wide at the top and 28cm wide at the base, with the base approximately 8cm across
Bag is 20cm tall at the side seams
Because of the leather is a veg tan it does not have a protective top coat seal. If left as is, it will ‘pantina’ as you use it. You can apply leather finishes, or even a sealant that will add protection, however it will slightly change he coour. It’s best to do a small patch test (the base is a great place) before applying any leather products.
The leather is made in Australia and the lining fabric was sourced from an Australian business. Bags are designed and made in my MEW Designs Studio (also known as a laboratory) in Brisbane Australia
